The Australian Armour & Artillery Museum
Australia
Приєднався 24 жов 2016
The Australian Armour and Artillery Museum opened to the public on Saturday the 6th September 2014.
The museum is privately owned and is the largest museum of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
We are located next door to Tjapukai and Skyrail on Skyrail Drive, Smithfield, a suburb of Cairns, North Queensland.
We are dedicated to the collection, preservation, restoration and display of Armoured Vehicles and Artillery from the 1800’s to the present day. Our collection includes armoured vehicles and artillery from both world wars with a particular focus on WWII.
Currently our collection consists of over 200 armoured vehicles and artillery pieces, many of which will not be found anywhere else in Australia. We are constantly on the lookout for additional pieces of equipment that will make our museum a richer experience for those visiting.

Amazing waffen mecha
the shape of this thing is quite futuristic / sci-fi if fit on with modern wheels & lighting, will easily mistaken this for modern machine
junk
👍🙂
I wish the US Army would contract with you fellas to restore the artillery pieces on the "Cannon walk" at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the home of the US field artillery. Beautiful historic pieces weathering away in the open. My favorite, a German flak 88 captured in North Africa, was in a terrible state when I saw it last, probably 20 years ago.
Vor 60 70 Jahren alles verschrottet und jetzt werden die Reste mühselig Restauriert
The Salvadoran military used these tanks quite effectively in clearing narrow alleyways during the civil war 1980 - 1992, their arsenal also had P-51's and Corsair's.
1:23:45 best part about the museum, is that plaque. Given that it's in Australia, exhibits may contain dangers... other than those you'd normally look for in a tank during operation. :))
1:06:57 FYI, because this is known only to engineers who spend time with these things (i didn't know myself and most people i talk about this don't either), but the reduction on pipe should go longer than it does before it ducts down. There's specific math to this, easily found on the web, but the idea follows every inlet and outlet au regard elbows (where they can be placed) and reductions. These devices need a specific length based on diameter and purpose, before they do anything, otherwise the volume passing through creates serious turbulence and reduces the performance of the device (blowers, t-chargers, fans etc... doesn't matter what they are). Given how much space is there, that reduction should be longer and have a gentler duct down. Reason is, no point in stressing the whole affair when there's space. Jm2c, nothing more.
It is incredible, what they have done with this Tank. It's Time to go on the Knee's.... Sorry for my englisch, i'm a German.... 🙂
I have Loading the Rocket from TLF to Ramp in 70 seconds! ( GDR Armee )
Now donate it toi the Nazis in Ukraine!
Jagdpanther is like a rare butterfly
I love these German Half tracks!💖 they're used to carry soldiers and weapons but unfortunately you only see a few of these nowadays. Love the video great job!👍💖😍
Man, half-tracks are so cool, especially the German ones, a shame they fell out of usefulness, but I guess all wheel or full track is just more viable rn. I really appreciate people who keep such gems of the past running, maintained, and preserved.
Did you guys know , that there is a 1952 centurion on display , on the Dukes Hwy in the middle of Keith SA . It is in a fully wired on all sides and with a roof , display type shed . It looks to be totally complete . Hope next time you get down that way you get a chance to take a look for yourselves.
Very cool but something way cooler is the ww2 Mercedes that Adolf Hitler had clive Palmer bought it a walk around talking about that would be great and does he own the museum
Absolutely incredible. A true Aladdin's cave.
💐💐💐
Panzer gray. Not blue like the picture. Not historically accurate.
Wonderful work, thank you for all your efforts!
Rommel Didn't think much of this tank!
BTW, Grabin construction bureau developed an assortment of Haubitzes too, howitzers for you English-speakers. Great video as always, thank you!
Really great job! 😊
A vehicle that went from being an infantry support artillery (originally created for)) to one of the best tank killing machines of WW2. One of the more interesting panzers of its time.
I’m going skiing in Innsbruck Austria next winter. I hope the museum is close so I can see the exhibits.
Just ask any taxi driver. They all know where it is.
glad to have been of some service, great video!
I am continually impressed with the Australian Armor Museum. What a great collection your restoration work is supreme. 1st rate in everything I have seen. Great work, gentleman!
5:01 Bmp stealing the show
What a Dug! The Russians called this Tank "A Tomb for 6 Friends"
Awesome video - imo the Panzer IV is like the iconic TANK, no matter which war or conflict we talk about, a Pz IV is what everything measure against in terms of 'tankiness'. And that there are a fair number of these beasts actually running is a fantastic feat.
Another vehicle a must for me to see at armour fest
Cool tank
Apparently these and the Bofors L/70 are back in use in the Ukraine War/SMO Shooting down drones inexpensively
3:50 I luv old school ways, but wouldn't a $25 laser level been perfect to line those gears up?
All the time when I look at the suspension system of this gun I expect to see vertical springs like in the cars.
砲口は左ネジなのですね❗ ライフリングと逆に?
Do the navel bofors next
Guys, I just want to say I'm enjoying the hell out of your videos.
*Azusa Approves*
I watched a recent video, your team is great! Happy new subscriber.
Would it be crazy to get the diagrams at 3:50 on the wall as a poster? 🙌
I watched the video for about 10 minutes and to be honest I was dumfounded. What is the incentive of some very clever and experienced Australian engineers to spend so much of their time and money in restoring an article of war ? Had it been a peice of Australian engineering that they were renovating I could say (with some reservations) yeah, fair enough. But to spend all that effort on the aggressors clever engineering is really something I cannot comprehend. Most of the people who experienced the second world war are now dead. I remember the effect it had on my Father, and it was not good. But I know the armaments and planes from the war did have some nostalgia attached to those generations directly affected by the war. Not so much now with younger generations who have no perception of the war. Please consider using your talents in something beneficial to the young people of Australia, not catering for a diminishing 'interest' in a terrible peice of world history.
写真ではこのJSU152を見た事ありますが、動く姿は初めてです。実弾発射時は凄い衝撃波があるだろうなぁ。
Another outstanding Walk-Around equipment review to include history and specifications. Thank you
Great stuff, as always. I'm eager to see the rest of the hydraulic power setup soon.
Help I’m from the largest land conservation project in epping help they broke my jaw and are taking everything - titanium Jon
Very versatile!
I thought half track was huge but now looking at it, it's small
Well suited for riot control
